An Important Message to Our Families:
It is with bittersweet sadness that we announce the impending departure of a beloved member of our Farmington Pediatric & Adolescent Medicine Family. At the end of October 2020, Dr. Shafia Memon will be leaving our practice.
Dr. Shafia has been an amazing and treasured member of our physician team, and a leader in this practice. Following the illness of her father, she and her family have made the difficult but necessary decision to move closer to her family. She will be headed to Abu Dhabi in the United Arab Emirates this fall. We invite you to send your warmest wishes to Dr. Memon and her family as they embark on this next journey in their lives. She will surely be missed by all of us!
We at Farmington Pediatric & Adolescent Medicine wish her and her family all the best. We will always love you, Dr. Memon, and will be forever grateful for all that you have done here!
Dr. Shafia Memon's Message:
My journey at FPAM has been the most rewarding and memorable time of my career. I have gained a lifetime mentor, Dr. Ziogas, who is a wonderful clinician and human being. I will surely miss all the staff members at FPAM. Above all, I feel privileged and blessed to have taken care of all of you! Thank you for letting me be a part of your family’s journey!
Lots of hugs and kisses for your children!
We would like to give an update about how Farmington Pediatric and Adolescent Medicine is handling the Coronavirus – COVID 19 infection. Our main concern, as always, is the health and safety of our patients and their families. The situation is evolving rapidly; we understand there is a lot of fear and concern right now. The most up-to-date information can be found on the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention website, www.cdc.gov. We are not able to test for COVID-19. If you think your child needs medical attention for possible COVID-19, please call us and we will provide the latest information that we have.
Even though children seem to be less susceptible to severe infection, they can expose others who may be at a greater risk for more severe outcomes. In order to reduce the risk to our patients and their families, we are strongly encouraging the following:
We are asking families to limit the number of caregivers bringing the child to the office.
We are asking families to bring ONLY the patient to the office, no siblings.
We are asking people over 60 to avoid the office unless there is absolutely no alternative.
We are asking families to complete CHADIS at home on their computers, tablets or phones.
If your child has fever and cough and is not ill-appearing, it is best to avoid a visit to our office.
Washing hands and being aware of our surroundings are paramount to staying healthy. The most important step is to remain calm and rational. We will continue to be accessible and provide the level of care you have come to expect. We are still providing Well Child Checks.
As things change, we will update our patients and families as quickly as possible. Please still come visit us, as we are making every effort to implement protocols to maximize safety and well-being for everyone.
